The System ⌇layers of value⌇

reacts to
“pre consumer waste / deadstock / old stuff”

Pre-consumer-waste, Overproduction and the resulting "deadstock" keep the industry busy. Up to now, there have been few solutions for upcycling and in most cases only downcycling and thermal reuse remain. Recycling is energy-intensive and for small quantities it is not profitable to remanufacture the material. | for the big industry | Especially with material-mix- textiles that are difficult or impossible to separate, thermal recycling is the last step. There are few approaches and solutions for the further use of these textiles, which are highly priced and processed to a high standard, especially in the home textiles sector. There is hardly any talk about limited editions. The current situation is that the warehouses are | full | and valuable material and resources are wasted or destroyed.

The subtitle

"Layers of Value"

is intended to make this clear in principle. Discarded, new and untouched goods are valuable. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to these textiles and materials. We should be aware of the value of already existing, yet unused resources, especially in the current situation.

Lack of resources and rising material prices
force us to find alternatives.

With my system,
I would like to create an incentive to transfer existing
materials from already mentioned sources into a further life cycle.

︎︎︎ Equal or higher value
and in the form of limited editions.

“I am responding to the current situation of our textile industry.”

The system can be applied to any other textile, taking into account different rules. The results are remakes and not upcycling. The textile examples are created from remnants and "pre-consumer-waste" of the industrial production. Embroidery thread / NSK are added as new material.
